Health Disparities in Seattle and King County: Did you know that BIPOC communities in Seattle and King County face alarming health disparities? According to recent data, Black individuals in King County are 1.5 times more likely to experience chronic health conditions, such as diabetes and hypertension, compared to their white counterparts. This inequity extends to Indigenous communities in the Seattle and King County area, where rates of chronic health conditions are 2 times higher than the general population.
Addressing the Root Causes: Dunia Health Organization understands that health disparities are not simply a result of individual choices but are deeply rooted in systemic inequities. We are working tirelessly to address these root causes and create lasting change through targeted programs, advocacy, and community partnerships.
Proven Impact: With the support of our dedicated volunteers, funders, and community members, we have already made a significant impact. Over the past year, we have provided healthcare services to more than 20,000 individuals, resulting in improved health outcomes and increased access to essential, quality care.
