What is drug screening?

Drug screening involves diagnostic tests that screen for different types of drugs within your body. Dunia Health Clinic offers non-DOT drug tests and DOT drug testing, depending on the type of test you need. Providers abide by CDL and DOT compliance requirements.

The expert team offers lab-based tests, in which samples get sent to a lab for initial confirmation testing or rapid tests that produce initial analyses at the clinic immediately after collection. Positive rapid test results get sent to a lab for confirmation. 

What do drug tests screen for?

Drug tests can detect the presence of drugs in your blood, urine, saliva, sweat, or hair.

Why would I need drug screening?

The most common reason you might need a drug test is for a job. You may require DOT drug testing or federal drug tests if you’re a truck driver, pilot, or merchant marine. This type of test is regulated per DOT rule 49, CFR Part 40. 

With non-DOT drug testing, a non-DOT employer could regulate the test as a condition of your employment.

You might need a drug test if you’re a professional or collegiate athlete, for forensic or legal reasons, or if your doctor monitors you for opioid use.

What should I expect during drug screening?

When you arrive at Dunia Health Clinic for a drug test, you can expect the following during your visit:

Urine tests

Before leaving a urine sample, wash your hands, use a cleansing pad on your genital area if it’s available, and urinate over a toilet into a collection container. Return the collection container to your provider.

Blood tests

During a blood test, your specialist takes a sample of blood from a vein in your arm using a tiny needle. They place the blood into a vial and test it for the presence of specific drugs.

What do my results mean?

Your Dunia Health Clinic specialist reviews the results of your drug test and lets you know what the results mean. They give you a copy of your results and send a copy to your employer, coach, or attorney if needed.
